Big Event Picnic Tables
Revesby, Sydney NSW
Casual | Approx. 15–30 hours per week | Guaranteed hours available for the right person
Not your average job.
Big Event Picnic Tables is looking for a reliable, energetic and hands-on person to join our Sydney Event Crew.
Our equipment is used at music festivals, major sporting events, corporate activations, public events and more.
One week you could be working on a major event in Sydney, the next travelling to a regional or interstate job, and then back at our Revesby warehouse preparing equipment for what's coming next.
If you like variety, physical work and seeing the results of a hard day's work, this could be a great fit.
What you'll be doing
This is an all-round, hands-on position that includes:
- Loading and unloading trucks
- Delivering event furniture throughout Sydney
- Setting up and packing down furniture at events
- Working as part of a crew on large-scale events
- Cleaning and maintaining our hire equipment
- Repainting and repairing furniture
- General warehouse duties
- Keeping trucks, equipment and stock organised
- Forklift operation as you progress
- Regional NSW and interstate event work
- Occasional overnight stays
Please understand — this is a physical role.
A large part of the job involves lifting, carrying, loading and setting out furniture by hand.
You'll spend plenty of time on your feet and there can be early starts and long days, particularly around major events.
We're being upfront about this because we're looking for someone who enjoys physical work and isn't afraid to get stuck in.
If you're looking for a driving job where you'll spend most of the day sitting in a truck, this isn't that role.
No truck licence required
You must have a full Australian car licence and be a confident driver.
A truck licence is not required to get started.
For the right person, we're happy to help you develop additional skills including:
- Forklift operation
- Trailer driving
- Larger vehicles
- Event logistics
- Crew leadership
Who we're looking for
More than anything, we're looking for:
ATTITUDE ENERGY EFFORT
You'll suit our team if you:
- Are reliable and turn up when you say you will
- Have a strong work ethic
- Are physically fit and comfortable with manual work
- Can work independently without needing constant supervision
- Are confident behind the wheel
- Take care of vehicles, equipment and other people's property
- Are willing to learn
- Can handle early starts when required
- Are flexible with hours during busy event periods
- Are comfortable travelling for occasional regional and interstate jobs
- Enjoy working as part of a team
Experience that would be an advantage
Not essential, but we'd love to hear from you if you have experience in:
- Events or festivals
- Furniture or equipment hire
- Warehousing
- Removalist work
- Deliveries
- Landscaping or construction
- Trades or maintenance
- Logistics
- Forklift operation
- Trailer towing
- MR or HR truck driving
- Leading a small crew
Don't have event experience? That's OK.
If you've got the right attitude, you're reliable and you're willing to work, we can teach you the event side.
What we offer
- Approximately 20–30 hours per week on average
- Guaranteed minimum hours available for the right person
- Applicable penalties and allowances
- Travel and accommodation covered when working away
- Variety — you're not doing the same thing every day
- Opportunity to work behind the scenes at major events
- Training and opportunities to upskill
- Opportunity to progress into greater responsibility
- Potential to lead our Sydney, interstate and major-event crews
We're looking for someone who wants to become a valuable part of the team, not simply pick up the occasional event shift.
Show us you're reliable, work hard and take ownership of the job, and there is plenty of opportunity here.
How to apply
Please don't just send us a resume.
Along with your resume, send us a short letter telling us:
- Why you want to work for Big Event Picnic Tables
- What previous work or life experience you have that would suit this role
- Why you think you'd be a good fit for our team
It doesn't need to be an essay — we just want to know a little about you, not just what's written on your resume.
Applications that don't include this may not be considered.
If you're reliable, enjoy physical work, want variety and like the idea of helping bring some of Australia's biggest events to life, we'd love to hear from you.
