Position Purpose We are seeking a detail-oriented, commercially minded
Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing comprehensive monthly reports, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and providing valuable financial insights to support business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial performance reports.
- Compliance: Manage end-of-month and end-of-year closing processes, including BAS, IAS, and FBT returns.
- Analysis & Budgeting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, monthly rolling forecasts, and variance analysis to identify trends and cost-saving opportunities.
- Transactional Oversight: Oversee or assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll integrity checks as required.
- Process Improvement: Review current financial processes and systems to identify inefficiencies and implement streamlined practices.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with department managers to explain financial results and assist with cost-center management.
Key Selection Criteria
- Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. CA or CPA qualification (or actively working towards it) is highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a similar corporate or manufacturing accounting role.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP s4 Hana preferable)
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional analytical skills with a proven track record of maintaining high accuracy under tight monthly deadlines.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear summaries for non-financial managers.
