Ferngrove Pharmaceuticals Australia is a TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) licensed Contract Manufacturing facility, specializing in complementary medicines and health food products, all manufactured under strict GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) guidelines. The company is looking for an experienced Machine Operator to join us in our head office on a permanent full-time basis.
About the role
We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Machine Operator to join our team. You will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production area. Your primary focus will be on running your area efficiently, setting up machinery, and maintaining the quality of our products. This is a hands-on, physical position that requires lifting up to 25kg ingredients throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate machines, including filling, labellers, and packers
- Perform equipment changeovers, start-up and shutdown procedures in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Perform quality checks and maintain accurate production documentation
- Ensure the workplace and machines are tidy and set up correctly for product changes
- Maintain equipment and address maintenance needs as required
- Record machine breakdowns and communicate effectively with the team
- Prioritise safe work practices and product safety at all times
- Perform routine activities, such as lubricating, tightening, and cleaning machines
- Work closely with Quality Assurance, Maintenance and Production teams to resolve operational issues.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and maintain a clean and organised work environment.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality and equipment performance.
Key requirements:
- Previous experience operating machinery in a pharmaceutical, food, medical device, cosmetics or similar manufacturing environment is highly regarded
- Minimum one year experience in similar role
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify and resolve minor machine issues.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues during production
- Co-operative Team worker is a must
- Organisational and numerical skills
- A great attention to detail
