Timber Machinist & Technical Sales Representative
Allmat Timber & Building Supplies is seeking an experienced Timber Machinist & Technical Sales Representative to join our growing team in Adelaide.
This is a hybrid role combining hands-on timber machining with customer consultation, technical sales, quoting, and project coordination. The successful applicant will work closely with builders, cabinet makers, shopfitters, and trade customers to assist with custom timber machining requirements, profile matching, product selection, and quoting.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and assist with setup of timber machining equipment and custom profile work
Interpret customer requirements and provide technical advice on timber products and machining solutions
- Prepare quotes and estimates for machining and timber supply projects
- Meet with customers in person, over the phone, and via email to discuss project requirements
- Assist with profile matching and custom machining enquiries
- Coordinate machining jobs between customers, workshop staff, and suppliers where required
- Maintain strong product knowledge across timber species, profiles, and building products
- Assist with general workshop and warehouse operations as required
Skills & Experience Required
- Experience in timber machining and custom profile work
- Strong knowledge of timber products, species, and machining processes
- Ability to interpret customer requirements and provide practical machining solutions
- Experience preparing quotes and estimating machining or timber supply projects
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and enquiries
- Forklift licence or willingness to obtain
- Medium Rigid (MR) truck licence or willingness to obtain
- Experience within the timber or building supplies industry highly regarded
- Ability to liaise confidently with builders, trades, manufacturers, and workshop staff
