About the Role:
Business transformation is high on the agenda for Kent as we continue to excel in the current climate and look to the future through investment, technology, and industry leading practices. Supporting this growth and change is our Finance department who are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join the growing team in a hybrid fulltime role based in our Clayton South office. Reporting directly to our Financial Accountant, this hybrid role will be based in our Clayton office with some work from home days.
Some of what you’ll be doing:

Completion of the end of month accounting & reporting process utilising Accounting Software

Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including preparation of rental, accruals, prepayments, fixed asset and depreciation journals and schedules

Preparation of internal profit and loss management reports for review

Participation in the periodic budgeting / forecasting process

Maintain general ledger ensuring accuracy and appropriate working papers and files to substantiate record

Cashflow planning and management
-
Assisting with the management reporting and financial analysis

Supporting the payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions where required

Preparation of quarterly Business Activity Statements for the Kent group

Assisting with interim and year-end audits
-
Preparation of FBT end of year
About You:
You’re an Accounting graduate looking for a long term career pathway with a large company, complemented with a strong level of written and spoken communication skills. You are passionate about keeping up-to date with financial accounting tools. You’ll be able to demonstrate your experience from previous roles and work well in a team environment.
What you must have:

Minimum 2 years in an accounting role

Completed Degree qualification

Commenced and actively progressing through either the CA or CPA program

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Advanced MS Excel skills

Strong attention to detail

Resilient and adaptive to change

An energetic and confident approach

Ability to work well within a team
