As the Senior Licensing Officer, you will work with the Electrical Licensing Unit in the Electrical Safety Office (ESO) to administer licences for over 68,000 electrical workers and 14,000 electrical contractors in Queensland. The Licensing team works with contractors, workers and their representatives, other state and territory licensing regulators and the independent Electrical Licensing Committee to build a competent, safe and compliant industry.
As a Senior Licensing Officer, you will be responsible for leading a team of licensing officers to ensure the efficient delivery of licensing service in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures. The role includes financial responsibility for managing licensing revenues, ensuring compliance with financial controls, and contributing to the integrity of financial processes. The role reports to the Manager, Electrical Licensing.
This position plays a role in driving service excellence, team performance, and operational efficiency within the electrical licensing unit. You will ensure the operational effectiveness of the team resulting in the provision of quality administrative support.
Key responsibilities
Support and develop a high-performing team responsible for licensing application processing, compliance checks, and client service.
Provide guidance and coaching to team members procedural and policy matters.
Oversee and monitor financial transactions related to licensing (fees and refunds).
Ensure financial controls are adhered and are compliant with internal and external audit requirements.
Reconcile licensing reports and escalate discrepancies as needed.
Support the implementation and continuous improvement of licensing processes and systems.
Monitor team performance against KPI's and service standards and prepare and deliver regular performance reports.
Ensuring high standards of customer service and raise issues which become complex or potential complaints to the Principal Advisor or Manager
Represent the licensing unit in working groups and projects, as required.
