Your Role
An exciting role exists to join the team at Catholic Education Office in the position of Consultant - Outside School Hours Care, to commence Term 3, 2026 (13th July 2026) or as negotiated with the successful applicant. This is a full time continuing position, based in Rockhampton.
The role presents an engaging opportunity to support Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Coordinators across 19 OSHC services in Catholic Education - Diocese of Rockhampton, enhancing the quality, compliance, and consistency of programs that promote children's wellbeing, identity, and positive learning outcomes. This role involves providing oversight and support across service operations, maintaining high standards of health and safety, strengthening communication with key stakeholders, and delivering professional learning to drive continuous improvement and best practice.
The position requires a strong understanding of relevant legislation, the National Quality Framework, and Early Learning policies, together with the ability to guide compliance, quality standards, coordinate key processes, and support effective administrative and operational practices.
The successful applicant will build strong collaborative relationships with Coordinators, Nominated Supervisors (Principals), and the Early Learning and Care team, provide informed guidance, support assessment and rating processes, and contribute to consistently high-quality OSHC service delivery.
Typical duties include, but are not limited:
- Working with existing OSHC Consultant, supporting OSHC Coordinators in their role as Educational Leaders and the embedding of programs that respond to each child's wellbeing, positive sense of identity and confidence as a learner and participant
- Ensuring OSHC services are providing for the health and safety of the children in their care
- Monitoring and supporting compliance with the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011, Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 and Early Learning and Care policies and procedures
- Regularly communicating with the Outside School Hours Care Coordinators and the Nominated Supervisor (Principal) of the associated school regarding the operations of the service
- Organising OSHC training that provide professional development and allow networking across the regions in the Diocese, with support from the Early Learning and Care Manager.
- Support OSHC services in adhering to legislative requirements and the National Quality Framework aspects.

About you
The successful applicant will have:
- An understanding of, and a commitment to, the ethos of Catholic Education.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Industry experience in Early Childhood or OSHC sector
- The ability to work well either individually or collaboratively as part of a team, and to accept direction and support.
- The ability to adapt and be flexible within a dynamic educational setting.
- Diploma level qualifications in Early Childhood and Care or School Age Education and Care or equivalent.

Mandatory Requirements
- A current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 (WWC Act) and valid Suitability Notice is a requirement of the position.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Current Driver's Licence
- Ability to travel from time to time within the Catholic Diocese of Rockhampton
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.
- Australian work rights
- Willingness to complete National Child Protection and Child Safety training.
