About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager on a flexible casual basis (working hours will depend on business needs and sales opportunities) to help expand our sales and promote our products and services to key customers in the rail industry. The role can be performed remotely or in a hybrid arrangement.
Candidates must have a minimum of 4-5 years of sales experience in the rail industry.
This position is ideal for a retired rail industry professional with strong networks and solid knowledge of the Australian rail sector, seeking a flexible casual role that provides additional income.
Specific experience is required in passenger rail, rolling stock, freight rail, and rail maintenance sectors.
Whilst the role is open to all candidates, retired rail industry professionals are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage potential customers to promote company products through phone calls, emails, online meetings, and site visits.
- Leverage existing industry knowledge and networks to identify and develop new business opportunities.
- Support the preparation of tenders, quotations, and customer proposals as required.
- Provide regular updates to management on sales activities, customer engagement, and emerging market opportunities.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience in business development or sales within the rail industry (essential or preferred).
- Strong industry network and established customer relationships.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to prepare sales proposals and tender documents.
- Willingness to travel to customers in Victoria and interstate when required.
- Have sole trader ABN (preferred)
