What your day could look like
Based in the South Burnett region, you'll play an important role in improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through culturally safe care, community engagement and strong partnerships across the health system.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
Supporting individuals and families to access the right services, improving continuity of care and overall wellbeing.
Partnering with multidisciplinary teams, community organisations and stakeholders to deliver culturally safe, person-centred care.
Leading health promotion, education and early intervention activities that empower people to make informed health decisions.
Strengthening community connections, advocating for consumers and helping improve engagement with health services.
Let's Talk About You
You're someone who brings compassion, integrity and courage to every interaction. You understand the importance of cultural connection and know how to build trust with people from diverse backgrounds. The impact you create goes beyond healthcare support. You'll help people feel heard, respected and empowered to achieve better health and wellbeing outcomes. You are motivated by meaningful community impact and take pride in creating positive change through collaboration, advocacy and culturally responsive care.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
Qualification in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care and eligibility to work in an identified role.
Experience supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people within health, community or wellbeing settings.
Strong communication, relationship-building and advocacy skills across community and professional environments.
Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively and contribute to coordinated care and positive service outcomes.
You'll stand out from the crowd if you have experience delivering health promotion programs, mentoring others, or working across rural and regional communities, and/or additional training in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice.
Above all, you'll bring dignity, innovation and a commitment to improving health outcomes while strengthening trust, connection and community wellbeing.
