The Role
The Ministerial Services Officer (MSO) reports to the Manager, Parliament & Cabinet in the Government & Parliamentary Services (GPS) team, part of the Strategy, Performance and Governance Branch in the Corporate Services Group.
Main accountabilities:

Provide support for the department's Cabinet and Parliamentary business, including coordinating responses to Parliamentary Questions and Cabinet briefings.

Strong technical aptitude including the ability to improve systems and process and provide end user support.

Build and maintain effective relationships for gathering and disseminating information within the department, ministerial offices and across government.
-
Demonstrate sound records management to ensure that Cabinet, ministerial and Parliamentary records are stored appropriately and managed in accordance with legislative requirements and produce reports as required.
The Team
The position of Ministerial Services Officer forms a part of the Strategy Performance and Governance branch within the Corporate Services group.
The Corporate Services Group consists of specialist functions including strategic communications, finance, investment and procurement, performance and governance, legal and legislation, people and culture, information technology and workplace services and the close out of activities related to the Commonwealth Games. The Strategy, Performance and Governance Branch objective is to continuously uplift the efficiency and effectiveness of the Corporate Services Group and the department.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:

Well-developed organisational, analytical and planning skills and the ability to operate independently within given guidelines and timeframes.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to liaise effectively with a range of internal stakeholders.

Relevant and demonstrated experience in checking and editing correspondence, briefings and submissions on confidential and sensitive issues.
