Are you passionate about the construction industry and looking for a structured pathway to a rewarding career? Our Cadet Program is designed to develop the next generation of construction professionals through hands-on experience, professional mentoring, and structured career development.
Over a 3–4 year period, cadets gain practical exposure to a variety of disciplines across the construction lifecycle while undertaking relevant tertiary studies or vocational training. Through guided rotations and real project involvement, you'll develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence required to progress into roles such as Project Manager, Estimator, Contract Administrator, Site Manager, or other leadership positions within the industry.
-
Structured on-the-job learning and development
-
Support, coaching, and mentoring from experienced industry professionals
-
Exposure to multiple construction disciplines and project environments
-
Practical reinforcement of university or vocational studies
-
Individual career planning and professional development opportunities
-
Clear pathways into long-term construction management careers
As part of the program, cadets rotate through several key areas of the business to develop a comprehensive understanding of how successful construction projects are delivered.
Develop an understanding of project costing, tender preparation, quantity take-offs, procurement, and the detailed planning required to accurately price construction projects.
Work alongside experienced Site Supervisors to learn about site operations, construction planning, subcontractor coordination, quality management, programming, and project delivery.
Gain hands-on exposure to construction activities by working alongside Construction Workers and Leading Hands. Learn about site establishment, material handling, plan interpretation, construction methodologies, and the realities of delivering projects on site.
Shadow members of our Safety Team to develop a strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements, risk management processes, incident prevention, and the importance of creating a positive safety culture.
Support Project Managers and Project Administrators in delivering projects through document control, procurement coordination, contract administration, reporting, stakeholder communication, and project support activities.
Throughout the program, cadets receive regular feedback and development support to ensure they continue progressing toward their career goals.
Each participant will have an Individual Professional Development Plan (PDP), reviewed and updated annually, which outlines career aspirations, development objectives, training opportunities, and progression pathways.
Formal Performance Development Agreement (PDA) meetings are conducted every six months to:
-
Review development progress and rotation outcomes
-
Set and monitor performance goals
-
Complete manager and self-assessments
-
Identify strengths and areas for improvement
-
Discuss additional training and development opportunities
Regular rotation evaluations are also completed by supervisors and operational leaders to ensure cadets are gaining the skills and experience required before progressing to their next placement.
