WHAT ARE WE OFFERING?
The Executive Director, Medical Services provides senior medical leadership during this temporary appointment, supporting the delivery of safe, effective and patient-focused care across the region. The role works closely with executive teams, clinicians and external partners to strengthen clinical governance, improve quality and safety, manage risk, and support accreditation requirements. With a focus on continuous improvement, the position helps shape medical services that are responsive, accessible and aligned with the needs of regional communities.
Leading key medical workforce functions, the role oversees recruitment, credentialing, education, professional development and workforce planning to support a capable and sustainable medical workforce. The Executive Director, Medical Services works collaboratively with medical officers, specialists, training providers and health services to enhance clinical practice, support research and guide service development. This is an opportunity to provide influential leadership and contribute to the future direction of medical care across the region.

WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED TO KNOW/WHAT IS ESSENTIAL FOR SUCCESS?

- You will need to undergo employment screening, what you require is also on the front page of the Role Description.
- You will need to be qualified Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, (MBBS) or equivalent. Appropriate specialist qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with specialist registration or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.
