WayloCo’s structural steel install schedule across Perth and Mandurah is filling up, and we need a switched-on all-rounder — a dogman or rigger who wants to do more than stand around between lifts. On our jobs, you install steel, you sling and land it, you back up the boilermakers, and you get stuck into whatever the site needs next.
WayloCo Mobile Welding & Fabrication is an owner-operated structural steel contractor and mobile welding company. We install structural steel packages — from single-beam call-outs to multi-storey steel — for builders and commercial clients across the Perth metro and Peel region.
This is 100% site-based work and it’s a genuine all-rounder role. Dogging and rigging is part of the job, not the whole job — most of your day is hands-on steel erection and assisting the install crew. If you only want to work lift windows, this isn’t the role. If you want full days on the tools with a small crew, it is.
What you’ll do
- Install structural steel — erecting, aligning, spanner work and bolting beams, columns and bracing
- Sling, direct and land crane lifts of structural steel — radio and hand-signal communication, exclusion zones, gear inspections
- Assist the boilermakers — holding, fitting, grinding, prepping and supporting weld-out
- Load, unload and stage steel deliveries on site
- General ad-hoc site duties — site set-up and pack-down, housekeeping, and whatever the job needs to keep moving
- Work to JSAs, SWMS and lift plans on live construction sites
What we’re looking for
Required:
- Current WA High Risk Work Licence — Dogging (DG)
- Construction White Card
- Experience on construction, steel erection or industrial sites
- An all-rounder attitude — happy to jump between rigging, installing and assisting without being asked twice
- Current WA driver’s licence and your own reliable vehicle — essential, you’ll be travelling between sites.
Highly regarded (not essential):
- Rigging licence — Basic (RB), Intermediate (RI) or Advanced (RA)
- Working at Heights and EWP tickets
- Steel erection experience — spanner work, aligning and bolting steel
- Forklift licence
- Trade assistant or welding experience — more strings to your bow means more hours
What you’ll get
- Competitive hourly rates, paid weekly — rate discussed at interview based on experience and tickets
- Local site work — Perth metro, Mandurah and Peel. Home every night, no FIFO, no swings
- Full days on the tools as part of the install crew — not just lift-window call-ins
- Small crew, no politics — you deal directly with the owner
- Immediate start for the right person, with ongoing project work as we grow
