The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Technical Engineer - Landfill to join our Technical & Innovation team in a newly created role reporting directly to our Technical Manager for Landfills. This is an unique opportunity to take ownership of landfill design delivery by appointing and managing the consultants You will also provide technical support during tendering and construction in a highly autonomous environment. You'll work across our operations, delivering critical technical solutions that support continuity of our resource recovery business.

What you'll be responsible for
Deliver landfill cell, cap, and pond designs by appointing and managing external consultants and ensuring all necessary technical approvals are obtained
Prepare Scopes of Work and evaluate proposals for landfill design, construction, GITA/TPCC services, and CQA audits
Review concept and detailed design documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory, industry, and Veolia standards
Provide technical support during landfill construction projects and liaise with internal operations teams and external stakeholders
Provide technical support during tendering and construction to ensure deliverables meet quality, cost, and time requirements
What you'll need to be successful
Demonstrated experience in landfill design and construction with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Degree in Engineering (preferably Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical) with experience in bulk earthworks and civil infrastructure
Independent, self-motivated approach with the ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with teams
Excellent stakeholder management skills (internal and external customers)
Valid driver's licence
