Join the Emergency Departments at Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals (BMDH), where your administration expertise will play an important role in supporting patients, clinicians and the delivery of timely emergency care.
Working as part of a dedicated Emergency Department administration team, you will contribute to a professional, collaborative and patient-focused environment where priorities can change quickly.
Provide frontline administrative support across both Blacktown and Mount Druitt Emergency Departments
Work alongside nursing, medical and allied health teams in a busy clinical environment
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including interpreters and transport providers
Support accurate patient information, medical records and communication systems
Develop your skills through mandatory training, education and on-the-job learning
What you'll be doing
As an Emergency Department Administration Officer, you will provide high-level administrative and communication support to ensure the smooth operation of Emergency Department services.
Register and update patient information accurately using iPM and FirstNet
Complete admissions, medical records, data entry, filing and documentation in line with policy and legislative requirements
Manage patient-related payments, receipting and cash handling in accordance with LHD procedures
Coordinate medical records, results and documentation with internal and external facilities and stakeholders
Provide responsive administrative and communication support, including overnight switchboard duties, emergency codes and alarms when required

Extensive experience in an administrative role, with demonstrated experience in exceptional customer service skills the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Demonstrated superior verbal, written, negotiation and interpersonal communication skills and effective communication with all levels of a large organisation.
Demonstrated organisational skills with proven ability in accuracy, initiative and flexibility.
Demonstrated knowledge and competency in the use of IT applications including Microsoft Office and data information skills.
Ability to work autonomously and actively participate within a multidisciplinary team.
Ability to multitask and handle unexpected matters when they arise in a professional & courteous manner
Ability to work a 24/7 rotating roster
