About the Role:
Operate production machinery and equipment to manufacture and process metal castings. Duties include operating production equipment, assembling moulds, performing finishing activities, conducting quality checks, preparing products for dispatch, maintaining equipment and work areas, and supporting general production operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret shop orders, methods sheets, work instructions, and production requirements prior to commencing work. Report any queries to the Foundry Manager or Team Leader.
- Perform moulding and assembly operations, including:
o Pattern and core box preparation and inspection.
o Mould production, ramming, vibration, and assembly.
o Core production and installation.
o Runner, sprue, riser, and feeding system preparation.
o Mould repairs and preparation for pouring.
- Operate finishing equipment to remove excess material and prepare finished products:
o Abrasive cut-off saws
o Grinders and flap discs
o Bandsaws and linishers
o Bench grinders and hand tools
o Other approved finishing equipment
- Operate and assist with machinery and equipment used in metal melting and casting processes.
- Prepare finished products for inspection, storage and dispatch.
- Segregate runners, risers, scrap metal, and waste materials into designated areas.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment where appropriately licensed and authorised.
- Conduct deliveries, pickups, and other site support duties where appropriately licensed and authorised.
- Maintain equipment, machinery, tools, and work areas in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition, reporting any faults or maintenance requirements.
- Carry out general housekeeping and cleaning duties throughout the foundry.
- Assist other production personnel and work centres as required to meet operational requirements.
- Wear and maintain all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with Safe Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, Quality Systems, and Occupational Health, Safety and Welfare requirements.

Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant AQF Certificate II qualification (or equivalent) in manufacturing, engineering, foundry operations, or a related field; or
- Demonstrated relevant experience in a production, manufacturing or foundry environment.
- Previous experience operating production machinery and equipment is desirable.
- Current Forklift Licence (LF) is desirable where material handling duties are required.
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience.

Pay: $72,000.00 – $82,000.00 per year
