Structural / Civil Engineer – Commercial Building Projects
We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Structural or Civil Engineer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a professional with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in structural engineering design and/or coordination of low-rise commercial building structures.
About the Role
In this position, you will be responsible for the design, documentation, calculation, site inspection and coordination of a wide range of structural projects involving:
- Reinforced concrete structures
- Structural steel systems
- Timber framing and structures
- Masonry structures
Your responsibilities will include structural calculations, preparation of documentation, material ordering, and coordination with project stakeholders.
The role may also involve the use of survey equipment for internal project requirements. Applicants with basic survey knowledge are encouraged to apply, although training can be provided for the right candidate who is willing to learn.
You will work closely with architects, builders, consultants, and clients to deliver practical, efficient, and compliant structural solutions across various commercial developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare structural designs, calculations, and engineering documentation
- Coordinate structural requirements with project teams and consultants
- Produce and review engineering drawings and details
- Perform calculations and assist with material ordering for structural components
- Ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards and building regulations
- Assist with project delivery from concept through to construction stages
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams
- Operate or assist with survey equipment when required
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should possess:
- A recognised qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in structural or civil engineering design and/or project coordination
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and related engineering software
- Strong understanding of structural systems and construction methods
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills
Job Types: Full-time, Casual
Pay: $70,139.22 – $177,492.45 per year
