About Us
Thomas Taylor Carpentry is a carpentry business based in Freshwater, NSW. We are seeking a skilled and reliable Carpenter to join our team on a full-time basis.
The successful candidate will work across a range of residential carpentry and construction projects, undertaking carpentry, installation, renovation and repair work to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Interpreting building plans, drawings, specifications and measurements to determine materials, dimensions and installation procedures.
- Measuring, marking, cutting and shaping timber and other building materials.
- Setting out and constructing wall, floor and ceiling frames.
- Constructing and installing roof frames, trusses, eaves and related timber structures.
- Constructing and installing flooring systems, stairs, external stairs, panelling, partitions and other timber structures.
- Installing doors, windows, frames, architraves, skirting boards, mouldings and associated hardware.
- Using hand tools, power tools and woodworking equipment safely and effectively.
- Assembling and securing timber structures using nails, screws, brackets and other appropriate fixings.
- Carrying out carpentry repairs, maintenance and renovation work, including replacement of damaged or deteriorated timber.
- Constructing formwork for concrete structures where required.
- Selecting, measuring and preparing appropriate timber and other materials for each project.
- Checking dimensions, levels, alignment and quality of completed work.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area.
- Following workplace health and safety requirements and company procedures.
- Working cooperatively with other trades, contractors and clients to complete projects within required timeframes.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Relevant carpentry qualification, such as Certificate III in Carpentry, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Relevant 1 year of industry experience as a Carpenter.
- Ability to read and interpret building plans, drawings and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of carpentry tools, equipment, materials and construction methods.
- Ability to accurately measure, cut, assemble and install timber components.
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and time-management skills.
- Physical ability to undertake manual work and work on construction sites.
Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
