We are seeking a reliable and compassionate NDIS Support Worker (Female Only) to assist one of our lovely clients at Rooty Hill, NSW. The role involves supporting with household tasks as well as community participation, while building a positive and respectful relationship with the participant.
Our client is of Fijian Indian background, and therefore we are specifically seeking someone who is of Indian or Fiji-Indian background only. Familiarity with Indian/Fiji-Indian cooking would be highly regarded.
This role offers between 2 to 3 shifts per week, Monday to Friday. Each shift is minimum 3 hours to maximum 6 hours (between 10am to 4pm).
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with household cleaning and tidying tasks (e.g., vacuuming, mopping, dusting, kitchen).
- Supporting with laundry and general organisation of the home.
- (Highly desirable) Supporting with simple Indian/Fiji-Indian style cooking or meal preparation.
- Promoting a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment for the client.
- Respecting client privacy, independence, and dignity at all times.
- Supporting with community participation, including taking the client out and about for social and recreational activities.
- Building rapport with the client and maintaining professional, friendly support.
Requirements
- Must be of Indian or Fiji-Indian background (essential).
- Female (essential).
- Experience in domestic assistance, cleaning, or support work (desirable but not essential).
- Knowledge of Indian/Fiji-Indian cooking (highly regarded).
- Reliability, honesty, and a strong work ethic.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
- First Aid Certificate.
- Proof of working rights in Australia.
- Australian Driving Licence and own car.
