Salary $75,000-$85,000 per annum + superannuation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, season and cook a variety of dishes for à-la-carte and function service
- Monitor food preparation and cooking processes to ensure quality and consistency
- Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, fryers and other cooking equipment
- Portion and plate meals attractively to presentation standards
- Assist with menu planning and estimating food requirements
- Check deliveries and ensure quality of ingredients and stock
- Store food safely and maintain correct stock rotation procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, equipment and food preparation areas
- Follow food safety, hygiene and WH&S regulations at all times
- Assist with quality control and consistency of dishes
- Train and guide junior kitchen staff and apprentices when required
- Support smooth day-to-day kitchen operations during busy service periods
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a Cook in a restaurant, café or catering environment
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, punctual and professional
Qualifications (preferred)
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent experience)
- Food Safety / Food Handling certificate
