What you'll do
As our regional presence continues to expand, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Regional Bid Lead to oversee strategic bids, co-ordinate and deliver end‑to‑end RFP responses, and drive new business acquisition across the satellite connectivity portfolio.
The Senior Regional Bid Lead is responsible for the governance, delivery, and success of sophisticated bids, proposals, and commercial tenders across the APAC region. This role manages the end‑to‑end lifecycle of RFP/RFI/EOI submissions, ensuring proposal excellence, contractual compliance, and competitive positioning.
You will collaborate closely with sales, engineering, legal, product, and executive leadership to develop winning solutions that support strategic market growth. The role also plays a key part in new business development by identifying tender‑driven opportunities and shaping demand early in the procurement cycle.
The day-to-day
Bid & Proposal Leadership
- Lead the full lifecycle of regional RFP/RFI/EOI responses for satellite connectivity and managed service solutions.
- Lead bid governance including bid/no‑bid processes, pursuit strategy, and risk assessment.
- Develop proposal structures, win themes, value propositions, and compliance matrices.
- Coordinate input across engineering, product, commercial, finance, and legal teams to deliver cohesive, high‑quality submissions.
- Ensure all deliverables meet customer requirements, internal quality standards, and submission deadlines.
Contract & Commercial Management
- Interpret sophisticated contract terms, technical schedules, and legal requirements; identify risks and mitigation paths.
- Support negotiation strategies, pricing models, commercial constructs, and deal approvals.
- Work with legal teams to develop contractual positions aligned with company policy and risk tolerance.
- Maintain regional knowledge of procurement frameworks, government regulations, and commercial compliance expectations.
New Business Development & Opportunity Shaping
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new opportunities across government, enterprise, mobility, and infrastructure markets.
- Engage early with customers to influence specifications, develop requirements, and position Viasat’s capabilities.
- Partner with sales teams to develop capture plans, competitor assessments, and customer engagement strategies.
- Support the build of long-term account and market growth strategies.
Stakeholder Engagement & Teamwork
- Serve as a central coordination point for pursuit teams across technical, operational, and commercial workstreams.
- Facilitate executive reviews, bid governance boards, and internal decision processes.
- Maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders including partners, integrators, and channel networks.
Proposal Quality, Process & Continuous Improvement
- Drive best practices in bid management, proposal standards, and pursuit rigor.
- Develop templates, tools, processes, and knowledge repositories to strengthen regional bid capability.
- Mentor junior team members and support organisational capability uplift.
What you'll need
- 7–10+ years of proven experience in bid management, proposal leadership, commercial operations, or capture management.
- Demonstrated success leading large, sophisticated RFP responses within satellite communications, telecom, aerospace, or critical connectivity sectors.
- Proven track record of interpreting sophisticated RFT/RFP documentation and translating requirements into compelling proposals.
- Experience negotiating commercial terms, pricing structures, and contract deliverables.
- Exceptional project management skills with the ability to manage multiple bids concurrently.
- Excellent written communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation capabilities.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and proposal management tools.
What will help you on the job
- Prior experience supporting government or regulated-industry procurement.
- Strong understanding of satellite communications technologies (GEO/MEO/LEO), network architecture, and managed connectivity solutions.
- Familiarity with long‑cycle sales, multi‑stakeholder decision environments, and strategic capture processes.
- Strong network within relevant industry segments across APAC.
- Background in engineering, telecommunications, aerospace, or systems integration.
