The Brisbane Broncos are seeking a General Manager – Retail & Merchandise to lead the next stage of growth for the Club’s merchandise and retail business.
How you can play a part
Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this role will be responsible for driving the end-to-end merchandise and retail strategy, with a clear focus on revenue growth, profitability, brand strength and fan engagement across all retail channels. This will include:
- Developing and delivering a multi-year merchandise and retail strategy aligned to the Club’s commercial objectives
- Owning the merchandise and retail P&L, including revenue growth, gross margin, budgets, forecasts and profitability
- Driving performance across physical stores, eCommerce, game day, events and wholesale channels
- Leading retail expansion opportunities, including new store business cases, lease negotiations and fit-outs
- Overseeing merchandise range strategy, product development, pricing, inventory and supplier performance
- Building an integrated omni-channel retail experience across stadium, online, events and physical retail environments
- Managing key licensing, supplier, landlord, NRL and commercial partner relationships
- Leading and developing a high-performing merchandise and retail team
To be considered
To be considered for this opportunity you will have:
- Senior leadership experience in retail, merchandise, consumer products, licensing, eCommerce or a comparable commercial environment
- A proven track record of driving revenue growth, profitability and customer engagement across a multi-channel business
- Strong commercial acumen, including P&L ownership, budgeting, forecasting, margin management and cost control
- Experience leading merchandise, product, inventory, supplier or retail operations in a complex consumer-facing environment
- Demonstrated ability to identify and deliver growth opportunities, including new channels, partnerships, retail formats or customer experiences
- Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships internally and externally
- Confidence using data, customer insights and performance reporting to guide commercial decisions
- Proven ability to lead teams, develop people and create a high-performance operating rhythm
- The ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-profile and values-led environment
Experience within sport, entertainment, licensed products, fashion, apparel or fan-based consumer brands will also be highly regarded.
