In this role, you'll:
Be responsible for ensuring the reliable, safe, and efficient delivery of operational and customer-facing technology services across NSW Maritime. The role oversees end to end delivery of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring they align with strategic goals, meet critical milestones, and maintain compliance. It also ensures continuity and optimisation of core systems by managing business-as-usual (BAU) enhancements, operational releases, and technology support that enable both frontline and back office functions.
Act as a key tactical partner to Maritime operational teams, the role ensures technology remains responsive to evolving business needs, operational demands, and regulatory requirements. This includes building strong relationships with stakeholders, developing deep domain expertise, and maintaining alignment with operational rhythms. The position also keeps track of emerging technologies to ensure systems remain modern, resilient, and fit for purpose while supporting ongoing operational effectiveness.
Key accountabilities include leading technology delivery from concept to implementation, managing application portfolios, ensuring integration and resilience, and driving governance, compliance, and performance monitoring. The role must also manage risks, resolve issues, and champion continuous improvement. Major challenges include balancing competing priorities across complex projects, aligning innovation with security and compliance requirements, coordinating diverse stakeholders, and delivering outcomes within tight financial and resource constraints.

About you
You bring a strong background in technology, engineering, or information systems, backed by solid experience delivering technology outcomes and managing portfolios. You’re confident juggling multiple projects at once, keeping everything moving while managing risks and keeping stakeholders aligned. You’re used to working in operational environments where governance and compliance matter, and you know how to deliver outcomes that are both practical and secure.
You work with a wide range of people across the organisation and beyond. You build strong relationships with senior leaders, technology teams, and Maritime business units, while also working closely with vendors, service providers, regulators, and other government agencies.
