We are seeking an experienced and motivated Motor Vehicle Log Team Inspector to join our growing operation in Macksville. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a diverse range of heavy vehicles while playing a critical role in ensuring compliance, safety and quality standards are met before vehicles are prepared for sale and delivery. This position is located at our Head Office, 2 Centra Park Street, Macksville.
About the Role
As a Motor Vehicle Team Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting, tagging and processing vehicles, vehicle body equipment and material handling equipment to ensure they meet NHVR roadworthy requirements and Midcoast Trucks’ quality standards.
Key duties include:
- Conducting detailed vehicle inspections and roadworthiness assessments.
- Processing and tagging incoming vehicles.
- Completing vehicle book-ins and photographic documentation.
- Identifying compliance, safety and mechanical issues.
- Carrying out minor repairs where required.
- Maintaining accurate inspection, compliance and road test records.
- Managing truck logs, weighbridge records and related documentation.
- Supporting vehicle preparation and delivery schedules across multiple departments.
- Training and assisting new team members in inspection procedures.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Minimum 5 years’ mechanical experience within the automotive, transport, heavy vehicle, fleet or equipment industry.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle inspections and compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Experience using digital compliance and record-keeping systems.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
Essential Requirements
- Qualification in Heavy Vehicle Inspection to NHVR standards.
- Heavy Vehicle Driver Licence.
