About the Opportunity
Edward Jacobs is currently working with a growing specialist geotechnical engineering consultancy in Sydney's Northern Beaches that is looking to hire an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer.
This is an opportunity for a senior geotechnical professional who wants more than a traditional engineering role within a large consultancy.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to play a significant role in the continued growth of the business, with potential to take on technical leadership, business development and longer-term ownership responsibilities.
The role is predominantly site-based, with some office time required. The company is flexible around the exact working arrangement for the right person, provided projects and client commitments are delivered effectively.
About You
We are looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer with:
- 5+ years of solid geotechnical engineering experience in Sydney
- Demonstrated experience working on Sydney-based geotechnical projects
- Strong technical geotechnical engineering capability
- A relevant engineering qualification
- Chartered status, or the ability to obtain Chartered status
- The ability to obtain NER (National Engineering Register) status relatively quickly
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive and accountable approach to project delivery
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
- Strong cultural fit and a collaborative approach
- An interest in contributing to business development and bringing new work into the business
Sydney-based geotechnical experience is essential for this opportunity.
Candidates whose experience is primarily interstate or overseas, without substantial Sydney experience, are unlikely to be suitable.
