About the Role
We are seeking a Safety Advisors to join our HSET team at Telfer. As a Safety Advisor, you will support the delivery of a safe and healthy work environment across site. Working closely with leaders and crews, you’ll gain exposure to a wide range of safety activities including inspections, incident investigations, and safety system improvements.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is motivated, proactive, and eager to develop their career in Work Health & Safety.
Please note this role is on 8/6 Roster – FIFO from perth
What You’ll Be Doing
Assist in the development and implementation of safety improvement initiatives
Support safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations
Provide day-to-day safety advice and guidance to site personnel
Help maintain safety systems, records, and documentation
Compile and share safety statistics and reports
Work with supervisors and teams to promote safe work practices
Contribute to risk assessments and hazard identification activities
Support compliance with WHS legislation and company standards
Build strong working relationships across teams and departments
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a safety professional with some practical experience under their belt who is ready to take the next step in their career at Telfer.
To be successful, you will have:
3-5 years' experience in a Safety Advisor or similar HSE role within the mining or heavy industry sectors.
Previous site-based experience across underground and open pit mining, construction, and/or processing operations.
Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (minimum requirement)
Previous experience in a workplace health and safety role
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
The ability to build effective relationships and influence positive safety behaviours
Experience supporting safety initiatives, investigations, audits, or risk management activities
A proactive, self-motivated, and team-focused approach
Desirable (but not essential):
Experience using safety management systems and incident reporting platforms
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Exposure to health, safety, and environmental management systems within an operational or industrial environment
About Telfer Operations
Telfer is a long-life gold-copper mine in the Paterson Province of Western Australia’s East Pilbara region. The operation includes both open-pit and underground mining and Australia’s third-largest gold-copper processing facility. Since commencing production in 1975, Telfer has produced over 15 million ounces of gold. The site operates on a fly-in fly-out basis and offers a wide range of onsite recreational facilities to support workforce wellbeing.
