Are you an experienced Disability Support Worker passionate about providing high-quality, person-centred support? We are looking for experienced support workers to provide in-home support to NDIS participants across the Bayside and surrounding suburbs, including
Beaumaris, Parkdale, Mentone, Murrumbeena Highett, Moorabbin, Cheltenham, Hampton, and Oakleigh South.
This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people living with disability while working as part of a supportive and professional team.
Availability:
We’re looking for support workers who can offer:
- Ideally available Monday–Friday - 7:00am - 5:00pm
- A minimum availability of Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday is required
- Saturday morning availability is highly regarded
About the Role:
- Provide personalised, person-centred support to NDIS participants in their homes.
- Assist with personal care, mobility and daily living activities.
- Support participants to maintain their independence, relationships and personal goals.
- Provide safe and respectful support to people with complex care needs.
- Support participants living with conditions such as Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
- Provide support to clients who may have behaviours of concern, in accordance with their support and care plans.
- Assist with manual handling using equipment such as hoists and slide sheets.
- Support participants with PEG feeding and NIV management where required and within your training and assessed competencies.
- Work confidently and professionally in a participant's home while maintaining their dignity, privacy and choice.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience working in NDIS disability support. Experience limited to aged care alone will not meet the requirements of this role.
- Confidence working autonomously in clients' homes.
- Experience supporting people with complex care needs, including MND and behaviours of concern.
- Hands-on manual handling experience, including using hoists, slide sheets and other relevant equipment.
- Experience supporting with PEG feeding.
- Experience with NIV management.
- A person-centred approach and strong understanding of professional boundaries.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow individual support and care plans.
- Relevant qualifications in Disability Support, Individual Support, Nursing or a related field are highly regarded.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check, where required, or willingness to obtain one.
- A valid driver's licence, appropriate vehicle insurance and access to a reliable vehicle, where required for the role.
