Second Deli is a family-owned restaurant located close to the city of Perth. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Chef to join our close-knit and supportive team.
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team at a busy dining and catering establishment. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to take ownership of menu planning, food preparation, and quality control while contributing to a high-standard operation that prides itself on using fresh, quality ingredients.
Key Responsibilities Include
· Ensuring all food is prepared to the highest quality and served in a timely manner.
· Planning and developing menus while considering budget constraints and the availability of seasonal ingredients.
· Overseeing all kitchen operations on a daily basis.
· Leading, coordinating, and supporting kitchen staff as required.
· Training kitchen staff in the preparation and cooking of all menu items.
· Managing inventory of ingredients and equipment, including placing orders to maintain adequate stock levels.
· Enforcing strict health, safety, and sanitation standards throughout the kitchen.
· Developing new recipes to keep the menu innovative and appealing.
· Staying up to date with current industry trends and culinary developments.
· Actively seeking customer and staff feedback and implementing improvements as necessary.
Selection Criteria
- Proven experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and quality control.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
- Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery (Diploma level or equivalent) is highly regarded.
