Moonee Valley Racing Club (MVRC) is one of Australia’s most progressive and innovative thoroughbred racing clubs and multi-purpose entertainment venues. The MVRC is looking for an experienced marketing and communications professional to join us in the role of Campaign Manager.
The Campaign Manager is responsible for developing and delivering sales-focused marketing campaigns to drive traffic, engagement, and, most critically, commercial outcomes for the Moonee Valley Racing Club. This includes all aspects of the MVRC business, including Hospitality, Racing & Property, with a primary focus on the Hospitality pillar including, Raceday Hospitality, Gaming & Entertainment Venues, Valley Events, TOTE Bar & Dining, Dean & McPherson & Moonee Valley Park
The marketing, communications and lead generation initiatives will be delivered in the form of marketing campaigns, collateral development, content development, management of the hospitality division websites, social media, CMS, and CRM platforms.
The role reports directly to the General Manager - Marketing & Communications and has a strong working relationship with the Head of Hospitality. The role is also responsible for the management of the Marketing Coordinator.

Moonee Valley Racing Club (MVRC) is the historic home of Australia’s Best Race, the Ladbrokes Cox Plate and plays host to the best night racing in Australasia with Ladbrokes Friday Night Lights. MVRC is currently in the process of a defining $2bn+ transformation project that involves developing lifestyle, recreation and leisure spaces to create an industry-leading connected precinct that will redefine the horse racing industry. Designed to make MVRC one of Melbourne’s most prized sports and events destinations, the project will generate new business and tourism opportunities while elevating MVRC into the new realm for generations to come.
About the role

Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to the following:
- In collaboration with the General Manager - Marketing & Communications and Head Of Hospitality, produce sales-focused marketing plans and campaigns for our five Hospitality Pillars. This includes their end-to-end development, delivery, and measurement.
- Oversee all Hospitality social media channels to drive engagement and lead generation growing the databases of each of our Hospitality brands across our five pillars.
- Assist the development of the communication strategy across all Hospitality pillars to key industry segments and tourism to aid pipeline generation for sales.
- Prepare analytical insights across the five Hospitality Pillars for weekly Hospitality meetings and assist in the preparation of the monthly Committee Reports.
- Write, edit, and publish Hospitality content for websites, blogs, videos, social media posts/campaigns, email campaigns, podcasts, news, press releases, scripts, brochures, flyers, posters and event collaterals, whitepapers, and more.
- Work with the in-house Video Content Producer to produce high-quality content across the five Hospitality pillars.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to aid pipeline generation and deliver commercial outcomes.
- Responsible for all Dean & McPherson-related content development and communications for the Melbourne Showgrounds partnership and any future Dean & McPherson partnerships.
To effectively perform in the role the successful candidate must have the following skills, experience, qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications or similar.
- At least five years' experience in a relevant marketing/communications/content role with proven sales marketing and communications skills and expertise.
- Excellent communications skills. Strong writing, editing and proofreading experience, combined with expert language skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Demonstrable organisational and multi-tasking capabilities/ time management skills.
- Skilled in workflow management systems like Trello or Jira and able to assist and support the digital transformation strategy.
- Strong digital marketing experience including CMS, CRM, SEO, UX, analytics, social media, and website strategy.
- Experience major events and or the hospitality industry would be highly regarded.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
