Senior Analyst, Quality Management – Sydney, Australia
The Senior Analyst, AML Compliance is under general supervision from senior management.
This position supports the development, implementation and enforcement of policies, procedures and programs designed to minimize potential Compliance risk for Western Union and its affiliates, within the established strategies of the Regulatory Compliance department.
Education: A degree in commerce, business, law, finance, risk, compliance, or equivalent, with CA qualified or working towards CA (or equivalent).
Quality Assurance Experience – 3+ years’ experience in quality assurance, quality control, or operational risk within financial services, fintech, or a regulated industry.
Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge – Understanding of AML/CTF obligations, sanctions requirements, and relevant industry regulations (AUSTRAC, APRA, ASIC) is highly regarded.
Analytical Skills – Strong ability to review case files, transactions, or operational outputs, identify errors or gaps, and provide clear, actionable feedback.
Attention to Detail – Exceptional accuracy in reviewing documentation, data, and processes, with a focus on consistency and compliance.
Reporting & Insights – Experience producing QA reports, trend analysis, and recommendations for process improvement using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools.
Professional Development – Relevant certifications (e.g., CAMS, ICA, Six Sigma) are desirable but not essential.
