Position Overview
IGA South Brisbane is seeking a reliable and customer-focused Checkout Operator to join our team. The successful applicant will provide exceptional customer service while efficiently processing sales transactions and assisting with day-to-day store operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate cash registers and point-of-sale systems accurately and efficiently
- Process cash, EFTPOS, and other payment transactions
- Deliver friendly and professional customer service
- Assist customers with enquiries and product locations
- Maintain a clean, organised, and well-presented checkout area
- Replenish confectionery and impulse merchandise displays as required
- Follow company policies, procedures, and workplace health and safety standards
- Support other store departments during busy periods when needed
Skills and Attributes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling transactions
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment
- Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays
- Previous retail or customer service experience is desirable but not essential
