About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Finance Analyst to provide high‑quality financial insights and commercial decision support across the Sales, Marketing, and Category teams. This position plays a critical role in driving revenue growth, margin improvement, and commercial strategy within a fast‑paced FMCG environment across two distinct categories: pet care and F&B.
What You’ll Do
Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Category teams to evaluate commercial initiatives and provide data‑driven financial insights.
Conduct analysis across key commercial levers, including pricing strategies, volume/price/mix performance, trade promotional spend, and brand spend effectiveness.
Build advanced financial models to support pricing decisions, promotional planning, customer negotiations, and trade term structures.
Evaluate new product launches, innovation proposals, channel strategies, and customer investment proposals from a financial perspective.
Provide financial inputs into budgeting and forecasting processes, including volume, revenue, gross margin, and trade spend.
Prepare customer, channel, and brand P&L reporting with variance analysis and strategic insights.
Identify performance trends, risks, and opportunities to enhance commercial outcomes.
Support S&OP processes and contribute to commercial projects, including cost‑to‑serve and go‑to‑market initiatives.
Ensure adherence to Delegated Authorities and compliance with trade spend governance requirements.
What you’ll Bring
- Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or Business
- CPA/CA qualified or working towards this preferred
- Experience as a finance analyst (FMCG or similar low-margin, high-volume manufacturing environment experience highly regarded)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide insights
- Experience in pricing strategy, promotional evaluation, customer profitability analysis, and trade spend management
- Proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the business
- Advance Excel, financial modelling skills and Power BI capability (or similar BI/reporting tools) and ERP exposure
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
