About the Opportunity
As a Senior Estimator, you will play a critical role in supporting complex sustainment programs by developing robust, accurate, and commercially sound cost estimates for both customer submissions and internal business decision-making. Working closely with a range of stakeholders, you will analyse scope requirements, establish appropriate estimating methodologies, and deliver detailed pricing solutions that align with project and contractual objectives.
This role requires a highly analytical professional with strong estimating expertise, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to apply critical thinking to complex challenges. You will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, enhance estimating processes and systems, and ensure estimates are developed with a high level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities
- Lead the development of cost estimates from initiation through to final submission, including estimate kick-off meetings and stakeholder engagement.
- Analyse work scope requirements and develop appropriate Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) to support estimate development.
- Prepare accurate and defensible estimates using a range of techniques, including historical data, parametric analysis, supplier/subcontractor quotations, and stakeholder inputs.
- Identify estimate risks and support contingency development through risk analysis tools and methodologies.
- Apply relevant financial and commercial factors to develop comprehensive pricing submissions.
- Develop and maintain estimates within ProPricer and other estimating systems as required.
- Capture and document estimate assumptions, conditions, exclusions, and supporting rationale throughout the estimating process.
- Prepare high-quality estimate deliverables and supporting documentation for customer and internal review.
About you
- Degree or diploma qualified in Engineering, Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in estimating, cost modelling, or a similar commercial role.
- Advanced estimating knowledge with strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience using estimating systems such as ProPricer (highly regarded).
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- A proactive, resilient, and results-driven approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and a collaborative team-oriented mindset.
- Experience mentoring and coaching team members to support capability development and knowledge sharing across the team
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
