The Opportunity:
Join Wotton Kearney's Finance Operations team and play a key role in keeping the firm running smoothly behind the scenes. This is a highly connected position that sits at the centre of the business, supporting critical processes across Finance, People & Culture, Business Development, IT, Billing and our legal teams. You'll be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of client, matter and rates data that underpins many of the firm's day-to-day operations.
More than a traditional finance support role, you'll work with stakeholders across the firm to solve problems, improve processes and maintain the integrity of key systems and information. It's an opportunity to gain broad exposure to how a national professional services firm operates while making a tangible impact on the business. This role is open to candidates located in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, with flexible hybrid working arrangements available.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain client and matter rates, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client agreements.
- Support client and matter onboarding, updates and ongoing data maintenance.
- Manage and respond to queries received through shared team mailboxes.
- Maintain client agreement documentation across the firm's systems and records.
- Assist with employee onboarding, offboarding and business-related changes impacting finance operations.
- Prepare and deliver finance, reporting and volume-based discount reports.
- Support time recording processes and assist with troubleshooting system issues.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and finance-related projects across the firm.
About you:
- Experience in a finance operations, finance assistant, finance officer or similar role within a law firm
- Understanding of client, matter or rates administration and familiarity with industry terminology.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities accurately.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and confidence working across the Microsoft 365 suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative and service-oriented approach.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies.
- Experience with Aderant would be highly regarded, although not essential.
