About the role
You will be responsible for caring for children, supporting their daily routines and activities, implementing age-appropriate learning experiences, and contributing to their social, emotional, physical and cognitive development in accordance with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Framework (NQF), National Quality Standards (NQS), relevant legislation and centre policies.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide day-to-day care, supervision and support for children aged 0–5 years, ensuring their safety, health and wellbeing.
· Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, meals, rest periods, toileting and other daily routines.
· Plan and implement age-appropriate play-based activities that support children's social, emotional, physical, cognitive and language development.
· Encourage children's participation in learning activities such as storytelling, music, art, role play, group activities and outdoor play.
· Observe and document children's interests, behaviour and development, and contribute to individual learning records and portfolios.
· Assist children with personal care, hygiene, meals, rest and developing age-appropriate independence and social skills.
· Develop positive and respectful relationships with children, families and colleagues, and communicate relevant information about children's daily activities and development.
· Maintain safe, clean and stimulating indoor and outdoor environments and follow all child safety, health and centre policies.
· Work collaboratively with other educators to implement educational and care programs and comply with the EYLF, NQF, NQS and relevant legislation.
Key requirements:
· Diploma of Early Childhood Education and care, or an equivalent qualification recognised by ACECQA.
· At least 1 year experience as an Early Childhood Educator in a licensed early childhood education and care service.
· Sound knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Framework (NQF), National Quality Standards (NQS), and the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations.
· Current Working with Children Check (NSW).
· Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
· Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a professional team.
· Strong commitment to providing high-quality early childhood education and care.
