The Opportunity
Help shape MEGT’s First Nations engagement and reconciliation journey as our First Nations Specialist. In this impactful role, you’ll lead the delivery of our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), strengthen relationships with First Nations peoples and communities, and support culturally safe and respectful practices across the organisation. Based in Brisbane or Melbourne in our People and Capability team, you'll help build cultural capability, champion First Nations employment and participation outcomes, and create a workplace where everyone feels respected, valued and empowered to thrive. In this role you will:
- Lead and coordinate the delivery of MEGT's Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), including governance, reporting and continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with First Nations communities, organisations and key external stakeholders
- Work closely with the First Nations Partnerships & Pathways Manager – RMS on shared initiatives, referrals and opportunities that support First Nations employment, participation and pathway outcomes
- Partner with leaders across the business to embed culturally safe, inclusive and respectful workplace practices.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on First Nations engagement, cultural capability and culturally safe workplace practices.
- Develop and deliver content, presentations and communication materials that support First Nations awareness, engagement and inclusion initiatives.

About you
You're a strong relationship builder with a genuine commitment to reconciliation and creating positive outcomes for First Nations peoples. You thrive in collaborative environments, enjoy influencing change, and have the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels while managing multiple priorities with confidence.
You'll also bring:
- Experience coordinating or delivering Reconciliation Action Plans (RAPs) or First Nations engagement initiatives.
- Strong relationship-building skills with internal stakeholders, community organisations and external partners.
- Experience developing and delivering cultural awareness, engagement or inclusion initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to prepare reports, presentations and engaging communications.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and reporting requirements.
- Confidence working with senior leaders and influencing positive organisational change.
- A genuine passion for reconciliation, cultural safety and improving First Nations employment and participation outcomes.
- Travel: Occasional interstate travel will be required.
