About the Role:
We’re seeking an experienced Child Safeguarding Officer to join our national Child Safeguarding team.
Reporting to the Child Safeguarding Manager, you’ll support child safety and wellbeing across all TeamKids services by partnering with operational teams, educators, families and external stakeholders. You’ll help manage child protection concerns, reportable conduct matters, safeguarding investigations and risk management processes, while driving continuous improvement and a strong child safe culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Child Safeguarding & Protection
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of TeamKids’ Child Safe Framework
- Provide guidance and advice to operational teams on child safety concerns and safeguarding practices
- Assist with child protection matters and mandatory reporting obligations
- Support investigations into safeguarding incidents, complaints and allegations
- Ensure safeguarding matters are documented, managed and escalated appropriately
- Monitor compliance with child safe legislation across all jurisdictions
Reportable Conduct & Incident Management
- Assist in managing reportable conduct matters from initial notification through to resolution
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and external agencies as required
- Track incidents, trends and corrective actions to support organisational learning
- Prepare reports and recommendations for leadership
Risk, Compliance & Capability
- Identify emerging safeguarding risks and support mitigation strategies
- Support policy, procedure and resource development
- Promote safeguarding awareness and coach leaders in responding to incidents
- Work collaboratively with families, schools and community stakeholders
About You
You are a calm, professional and values-driven safeguarding practitioner who is confident managing sensitive and complex matters. You build trust easily, communicate clearly, and are deeply committed to protecting children.
You will bring:
- Experience in child safeguarding, child protection, education, OSHC, early childhood or a related sector
- Strong knowledge of child protection legislation, mandatory reporting and Child Safe Standards
- Experience managing sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism
- Strong written, verbal, analytical and investigative skills
- Ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
