Independent Review Office (IRO)
Location: 1 Oxford Street Sydney (hybrid work options available)
We are seeking a Senior People & Culture Business Partner to join the Independent Review Office (IRO). In this pivotal role, you will partner with Executives and senior leaders to deliver expert, pragmatic and contemporary people, culture and workforce advice that supports the delivery of strategic and operational priorities.
Working in a portfolio‑based model, you will build trusted relationships across the organisation, influence positive change, and help create a high‑performing, accountable and inclusive workplace. The role may also include supervision of team members and contributing to the continuous uplift of People & Culture capability across the organisation.

The Independent Review Office (IRO) is an independent statutory body in NSW that plays a critical role in the personal injury system. The IRO helps injured workers and motor vehicle accident claimants resolve disputes with insurers and provides legal funding to support claimants in navigating complex processes.

What you’ll do
In this role, you will:

Partner with Executive and senior leaders as a trusted adviser on people, culture and workforce matters

Deliver high‑quality, customer‑focused advice across the full employee lifecycle

Coach and support people leaders to strengthen leadership capability and build a high‑performing workforce
-
Lead and manage complex people and culture projects from design through to delivery and evaluation
-
Navigate sensitive and complex workforce matters with sound judgement, empathy and discretion
-
Collaborate with specialist teams to deliver integrated, best‑practice people solutions
-
Supervise and develop team members (where applicable), fostering a positive and accountable team culture
What we’re looking for
You will bring:

Strong experience in people and culture and human resource or organisational development business partnering within a complex organisation
-
Proven ability to influence, negotiate and build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders
-
Experience providing practical, evidence‑based advice on organisational and workforce challenges
-
Demonstrated project management capability and the ability to manage competing priorities
-
A values‑driven approach, with a strong commitment to inclusion, integrity and continuous improvement

Salary Grade 9/10, with the base salary for this role starting at $129464 base plus superannuation
