The Employment Services Intake Officer is the first point of contact for participants entering MS Queensland’s Employment Services program. This role delivers a timely, accurate, and participant-centred intake process, including eligibility checks, intake documentation, medical evidence collection, identifying participant needs, and scheduling initial appointments. The role also ensures all records, privacy, and consent documentation are completed accurately and maintained in line with organisational and compliance requirements, supporting a smooth transition into services for people living with MS and other Acquired Neurological Conditions.
This unique role coordinates participant intake and onboarding, ensuring all eligibility, documentation, and appointment processes are completed accurately and efficiently.
This is a full-time, on-site position, working Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:36pm.
- Confirm client eligibility for the Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) program, explain services and obligations, and support clients through the eligibility process.
- Assist with collecting medical evidence, completing intake forms, and providing welcome packs or program information, including support for clients with limited digital skills.
- Support digital onboarding by issuing Campus access, helping clients log in, enable accessibility features, and complete required digital IEA paperwork.
- Maintain accurate intake records, issue correspondence, schedule and reschedule appointments in line with the Compliance Framework, monitor attendance, and conduct reminder calls.
- Prepare clients for initial appointments by capturing key servicing information, confirming communication preferences, providing handover notes, and maintaining engagement through regular check-ins.
- Respond to enquiries, provide digital demonstrations, process external referrals, and engage new prospects in collaboration with the Marketing and Community team.
- Work within professional boundaries, contribute to continuous improvement, support internal stakeholders, and uphold all Workplace Health & Safety responsibilities, including safe practices, hazard reporting, and risk management.
- 3+ years’ experience in an employment services environment, either generalist or specialist, in a case management or intake role.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (Cert IV or higher) in Community Services, Employment Services, Disability Support, Career Development, or similar, or equivalent experience, are highly desirabl

Strong understanding of employment services frameworks, contracts, and compliance requirements, including maintaining accurate records and meeting KPI expectations.
- Demonstrated commitment to working with people with disability, with sound knowledge of the barriers they face in seeking or maintaining employment, and the empathy to respond to individual needs.
- Highly customer-focused, with strong listening, influencing, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate professionally and confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, while supporting participants with complex barriers to achieve meaningful program engagement.
- Strong digital capability, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Employment Services systems such as Job Ready, with the initiative to identify solutions and support participants to connect with services.
