The Role
We have an exciting temporary full-time Senior Advisor, Health and Safety available until February 2027 (unless otherwise determined) to join our Health, Safety and Wellness team. Whilst the role is based at Caboolture, travel will be required across all TAFE Queensland Brisbane (TQB) Campuses from Caboolture to Loganlea.
As the Senior Advisor, Health and Safety, you will provide specialist advise and expertise on Health and Safety issues, trends and best practice, to all faculties and corporate services. The position requires a high degree of autonomy and decision making ability, as well as the ability to engage with employees across all positions, to provide support and guidance to embed safe work practices.
As a Senior Advisor, Health and Safety, your day might involve investigating incidents, facilitating safety committees, preparing business-wide safety communications, and coaching staff to build a strong safety culture. Each day may bring new challenges and opportunities.
This position reports to the Manager, Health Safety and Wellness.
Salary
The salary range for a Senior Advisor, Health and Safety is $124,693.75 - $133,172.77 (gross) per annum plus superannuation contributions of 12.75% of your salary.

Key responsibilities
Promote and model the values of Safety First, Working Together, Focusing on our Customer, Taking Responsibility and Showing Initiative.
Foster a strong safety culture by leading by example and supporting the Health, Safety and Environment Management System.
Provide expert health and safety advice to managers, educators and staff.
Represent the Health and Safety Team at campus committee meetings and provide best practice and compliance recommendations.
Contribute to Health, Safety and Wellness projects and initiatives involving independent research.
Support Health and Safety governance and reporting across the Region.
Assist with incident management, investigations, audits and workplace inspections.
Support the development and maintenance of Health and Safety systems and processes to ensure compliance.
Deliver education, training and support to build health and safety capability across the workforce.
Keep staff informed of legislative changes and foster strong professional partnerships and networks.
Maintain awareness of business and financial factors impacting health and safety outcomes.
How you will be assessed
Within the context of the attached role description, the ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:

Demonstrated ability to provide Health and Safety advice and developing, implementing and maintaining a Health and Safety program in a commercial business environment.
Proven experience in building and sustaining productive stakeholder relationships and working collaboratively to achieve commercial business outcomes for the organisation.
Demonstrated high level communication, negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to provide discreet and unbiased advice.
Demonstrated commitment to the values of the organisation through modelling of behaviours and the provision of outstanding client service
Highly Desirable
Qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety or business, and extensive experience in Workplace Health and Safety or a related discipline.
Possession of a current driver's licence
