Primary objective
Provide high quality, prompt and efficient attraction, recruitment, and candidate care services in accordance with established
policies and principles of merit and inclusive based selection.
Context statement
The Strategy, Governance and Workforce Branch enable the department’s strategic objectives by providing governance
leadership and building a safe, capable, engaged and future-ready workforce. The branch assists the department to achieve
its strategic objectives by translating strategy into action, strengthens safe and ethical operations, builds workforce
capability, attracts and recruits talent, supports an engaged and inclusive workforce, provides governance leadership and
ensures workforce alignment and future readiness.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Develop and implement attraction and recruitment strategies across the agency to fill positions with suitable and diverse
talent that supports the achievement of the DLI strategic priorities meeting current and future business requirements.
2. Undertake recruitment and selection processes ensuring best practice and add value to improve the hiring experience
for both managers and candidates.
3. Support divisions by achieving resourcing objectives including planning recruitment and attraction campaigns working
closely with other units to develop wording of appropriate advertising material.
4. Provide reports on a range of recruitment and attraction metrics and assist in the management of unattached officers.
5. Undertake projects that will improve attraction and recruitment methods.
6. Provide mentorship to other Recruitment and Attraction Officers in the team to provide best practice advice.
7. Improve position establishment and undertake position evaluation reviews to redesign or create new positions to align
with approved or proposed organisation structures.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated extensive experience managing end-to-end recruitment processes, including serving as an independent
panel member.
2. Highly developed organisational and time management skills, with the ability to perform effectively in complex, high-
pressure environments and adapt to organisational needs.
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences and maintain
consistency in processes under pressure.
4. Proven stakeholder engagement capability, building and sustaining positive relationships with internal and external
partners to deliver outcomes.
5. Demonstrated high-level negotiation skills, with the capacity to make informed, independent decisions to achieve
desired results.
6. Professional and collaborative approach, contributing positively as a team member while fostering strong working
relationships across all levels and promoting a positive departmental image.
Desirable
1. Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a relevant field

Successful applicant must hold a current Northern Territory (NT) manual drivers’ licence, or ability to obtain, and have ability
and willingness to undertake travel to regions, including overnight stays.
