We are seeking a dedicated Application Engineer - Compressed Air Specialist to join our team at our Dandenong South Head Office. In this pivotal role, you will be our technical champion, designing and implementing world-class Kaeser Compressed Air Solutions.
You will bridge the gap between technical excellence and client satisfaction, working closely with customers, sales, and service teams to deliver high-performance, energy-efficient systems that minimize carbon footprints.
Key Responsibilities
As our specialist, your day-to-day will involve a dynamic mix of system design, technical consultation, and project management:
- System Design & Optimization: Analyze unique customer requirements to design tailored compressed air systems (compressors, dryers, filters, separators) that optimize both efficiency and reliability.
- Technical Consultation: Act as the ultimate technical reference point for both internal stakeholders and external clients, resolving complex inquiries with ease.
- Project Management & Tenders: Lead technical proposals, tender evaluations, design reviews, and project planning for major compressed air installations.
- Sustainability & Innovation: Utilize advanced Kaeser tools to design "best-in-class" solutions that actively reduce our clients' energy consumption and carbon footprint.
- Compliance & Market Analysis: Ensure all system designs meet and exceed Australian Regulatory Standards, while keeping a pulse on industry trends and competitor offerings.
- Collaboration: Partner with Sales and Marketing teams to support business development and showcase our premium product offerings.
What You Bring to the Team
To be successful in this role, you will need a strong technical foundation and a collaborative mindset:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (a Master’s degree is highly desirable).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of dedicated experience in application engineering or a similar technical role specifically within the compressed air industry.
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of compressed air systems, components, and thermodynamic principles.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in modern engineering software and system design tools.
- Soft Skills: Outstanding problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and excellent communication skills to manage diverse stakeholders.
- Flexibility: A willingness to travel within Australasia for client meetings and site assessments when required.
