THE OPPORTUNITY
The Procurement Officer provides support of the procurement and management of ACIC contracts to meet the key organisational requirements. The occupant of this position will provide administrative support for the management of contracts for goods and services, including the procurement, tracking and maintenance of ICT hardware, software and warranty/support agreements.
Role responsibilities
As a Procurement Officer, you will:
- Provide advice and assist with the development of procurement policies, strategies and supporting guidelines for stakeholders across ACIC’s national offices.
- Assist with the preparation of briefs, reports and various other executive correspondence as required.
- Conduct reviews of guidelines to ensure internal policies and intranet information are current.
- Maintain a knowledge base on government policies affecting ACIC procurement.
- Assist in the preparation of training materials to improve procurement capability as required.
- Provide project and administrative support to the Procurement team as required.
- Support and assist in the delivery of contract management compliance.
Desirable skills and experience
- A Cert IV in Government Procurement but if not, a willingness to complete a Cert IV in Procurement.
YOUR SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES

- Can provide procurement guidance and advice to line areas on complex procurement, contract management and probity matters in accordance with Government legislation and policy.
- Can draft government contract documentation, including contract management plans, data and records to ensure timely and quality outcomes for the ACIC.
- Can draft procurement documentation, including section 23 approvals, requests for quotes and contract documentation.
- Is responsible for reviewing and updating the Contract Management Register when and where required.
- Develops and maintains strong business relationships with stakeholders and suppliers including effectively managing low level contract enquiries, issues, disputes, variations and risks and escalating when required.
- Will prioritise to ensure customer satisfaction and is responsive to stakeholders’ requests.
- Provides support to the Team Leader, Procurement with other procurement and administrative tasks when required.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Citizenship – To be eligible for employment with the ACIC, applicants must be an Australian citizen.
Security Clearance - The Australian community expects ACIC employees to maintain the highest levels of security and integrity. Successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance.
