About Me
I am looking to welcome a compassionate and reliable support worker to join my existing team, assisting me to live independently in my own home.
I enjoy spending time outdoors, including gardening, fishing, pistol shooting, boating and tinkering in the shed. I also enjoy music, movies, spending time with family, and catching up with people at my local café, where I like to socialise over a coffee most days. I have a good sense of humour and appreciate support from someone who is friendly, practical and enjoys building positive relationships.
Role Overview
Provide support to promote my independence in the home, including:
- Personal care, including showering, dressing and personal hygiene
- Prompting and assistance with medication as required
- Laundry and household tasks
- Preparing breakfast and lunch
- General tidiness in and around the home
- Assisting with physiotherapy exercises
Transport and Support To:
- Medical appointments
- Community and social activities
- Shopping for myself and the home
- Café visits and other social outings
About You
I am seeking someone compassionate, reliable and able to communicate effectively with me, my family and other service providers.
You will ideally be:
- Empathetic with excellent communication skills
- Organised and able to use your initiative
- Practical, reliable and motivated
- Flexible and adaptable to changing support needs
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team
Work Schedule
Permanent weekly shifts:
- Thursday and Friday, 8 am start, until 2-3 pm
- Approximately 14–16 hours per week
Additional opportunities may include:
- Occasional weekend morning shifts to assist with personal care
- Overnight (sleepover or active overnight) shifts as required
- Flexibility to cover additional shifts when other team members are unavailable
(Approximate start and finish times can be discussed during the interview process.)
Pay and Training
- SCHADS Award Level 2.1 Casual Rate (currently $43.23 per hour)
- Ongoing training and support provided
Requirements
All applicants should possess or be prepared to obtain:
- Current driver’s licence and reliable, insured vehicle
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Assist With Medication Certificate
- A genuine commitment to supporting independence and providing person-centred care
