Our Piara Waters world-class campus has been purpose-built to the highest standards, to support people with Huntington’s disease and provide accommodation designed for people with extreme functional impairment or very high needs.
We are offering permanent opportunities to cover our morning and afternoon shifts with times varying. To be considered for this role you must be available to work at least three days each week, with preference given to candidates available on weekdays and for multiple shift types (mornings and afternoons). Shifts and contract hours will be negotiated with successful candidates.
We are also seeking casual Disability Support Workers to join the team. To be considered for casual work you must be available to work at least three weekdays each week, with preference given to candidates available for multiple shift types.
Candidates will be considered for future similar vacancies.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide quality care, support and assistance to clients in accordance with individualized Support plans
- Ensure optimal service provision to promote choice independence and quality of life
To be suitable for this role, you must possess:
- A Certificate III in Aged Care or Disability (or progress towards), or significant experience in a related setting and a willingness to undertake training
- Experience supporting complex client conditions including Huntington’s Disease (desirable)
- Strong commitment to providing safe, high-quality care
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to inclusively communicate with a diverse range of people
- Strong person-centred skills and behaviours in communicating and engaging with clients with high support needs
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload, work effectively under pressure, problem solve and use resources effectively, safely and efficiently
- Current Western Australian ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate
- Satisfactory National Police Certificate obtained within the last 12 months
- Satisfactory NDIS Worker Screening check
