A Disability Support Worker assists people with disability to live as independently and safely as possible, while supporting their physical, emotional, and social wellbeing. The role can vary depending on the client’s needs, but generally includes the following responsibilities:
Key responsibilities:
- Providing personal care (e.g. showering, dressing, grooming, toileting assistance)
- Supporting mobility and safe transfers (including use of mobility aids)
- Assisting with meals, feeding, and medication reminders or administration (as permitted)
- Supporting daily living tasks such as cleaning, cooking, shopping, and budgeting
- Helping clients participate in community activities, appointments, and social outings
- Encouraging independence, life skills development, and goal achievement
- Monitoring and reporting changes in health, behavior, or wellbeing
- Following individual care plans and behavior support plans
- Maintaining accurate records and communication with families and healthcare professionals

Requirements:
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability)
- Police clearance and Working with Vulnerable People/Children Check (varies by region)
- Manual handling training
- NDIS screening
- Valid License
- Own car

- First Aid and CPR certification
Pay: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour
