As a result of continuous national growth, Lai Switchboard Australia are seeking an Electrical Engineering Draftsperson to join one of our electrical switchboard design department within our manufacturing plant in Adelaide. Schedule:
Full-time position.
38-hour week, Monday – Friday + reasonable overtime.
Waged position
The Position:
We are currently seeking Electrical Engineering Draftsperson. You will have the opportunity to work on different projects ranging from a variety of different switchboards to meet customer design requirements. You will work on a project from the very start of it being manufactured, to the project being delivered to our respected customer.
Key Competencies and Skills:
- Assisting Switchboard Leading Hands, Electricians, and Project team in design planning and organisation;
- Interpreting plans, designs, regulations and codes of practice;
- Preparing preliminary sketches, working drawings and specifications;
- Preparing, editing and revising plans, maps, charts and drawings;
- Coordinating works programs;
- Inspecting work and materials for compliance with specifications, regulations and standards;
- Prepares switchboard information for the Project Management, Design and Switchboard manufacturing team;
- Oversee and assist in the technical aspects of projects;
- Contribute to develop and implement necessary resources and processes to establish a high level of efficiency of work;
- Achieve safety in design;
- Calculating costs and estimating time scales; and
- Performing the design layout of a Switchboard to contribute to the manufacturing process and provide assistance to the Project Team and client as required
- Ability to work in a team environment and on your own if required.

Desirable Competencies:
- A strong technical engineering or trade background ideally in switch room & switchboard manufacturing
- Expert skills using AutoCAD in a 2D environment. SolidWorks experience is advantageous.
- Experience in Low and medium voltage switchboard design and construction
- Ability to interpret Single Line Diagrams and Schematics.
- Experience in Low and medium voltage
