The Assistant Store Manager Rover position is a full-time position supporting four Gyprock Trade Centre stores across the South Australia. Reporting to the Area Manager, you will join our Gyprock Trade Centre team and assist with the support of the Sales and Operation activities of the Store.
In this role you will:
- Travel between some locations across our South Australian Stores - Mile End, Lonsdale, Regency Park and a NEW Store opening soon.
- Ensure the store meets budget, including reviewing the areas of potential store improvement.
- Promote and manage catalogue sales and campaigns in the store to grow category sales and maintain margin.
- Meet with and negotiate with suppliers to achieve effective pricing for the business.
- Work with Inventory and GTC Manager to ensue inventory is executed in line with national direction and improvement opportunities are identified.
- Ensure compliance in your store of retail ready standards and behaviours including housekeeping, merchandising and presentation.
- Monitor and coach employees under your direct supervision, ensuring achieve performance and training / development plans are achieved.
Your standard working hours are Monday to Friday, between 6:30am and 4:00pm and Saturday operations from 6.30 to 11.30am depending on requirements. Any hours worked beyond 38 hours per week will be paid at applicable overtime rates, including Saturdays, providing an opportunity to earn additional income.
About you:
- Forklift licence and drivers' licence are essential.
- Experience in Supervising, customer service or trade counter sales, preferably in the building or construction industry.
- Ability to handle sales transactions, process orders, and manage stock inquiries.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and basic computer skills
- A positive attitude and team-oriented mindset in a fast-paced environment.
- A strong work ethic and commitment to safety procedures are essential.
- Flexibility in travelling to different stores each day, as required by the business.
