CHEF - FULL TIME
VANILLA CAKES AND COFFEE LOUNGE
Vanilla Cakes and Coffee Lounge is seeking to hire a qualified and experienced chef. The ideal applicant will have a qualification and at least two years of experience as a chef. The suitable candidate must also have excellent communication skills, strong work ethic, positive attitude, experience working in a fast-paced kitchen and a strong passion and flair for cooking.
The duties and responsibilities associated with this position are as follows:
- Planning menus and estimating food and labour costs in consultation with the owner
- Preparing and cooking food
- Implementing staff rosters and supervising the activities of cooks and assistants
- Discussing food preparation issues with managers, and other staff members
- Requisitioning food, kitchen supplies and equipment
- Portioning food, adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
- Explaining and enforcing hygiene and food safety regulations
- Selecting and training staff
- Freezing and preserving foods
We are a family run business located in the heart of Eaton Mall, Oakleigh and close to public transport. Weekend work will be required.

Salary Range: 75,000-$85,000
