Are you an experienced barista/cook looking to join a fun team in a friendly coastal location?
Cafe 191 at Bribie Island Community Arts Centre seeks an experienced part-time Barista/chef to join their team. In this position, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and high-quality coffee and meals in a fast-paced cafe environment.
We are looking for an experienced barista/chef; maximum of 26 hours a week, from Friday to Monday inclusive. Starting asap.
Your hours of work will be four days a week.8am – 2pm **
The duties of this position will be to provide service in the café during opening times (Fridays & Saturdays 9:00am – 2:00pm, Sundays & Mondays 9:00am – 1.00pm).
What you'll be doing
· Basic food preparation. Preparing a range of coffee, specialty beverages and meals to the highest standards (Light menu only Sundays & Mondays)
· Providing prompt and friendly customer service
· Maintaining a clean and organised workspace
· Working collaboratively with the wider team, including many cafe volunteers, to ensure a smooth operation
What we are looking for
· Minimum 1-year experience as a barista /chefin a café environment
· Strong knowledge of coffee beans, brewing methods, and coffee equipment
· Excellent customer service skills and a passion for hospitality
· Attention to detail and the ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure
· A friendly, positive, and proactive attitude
· Flexibility to work more shifts occasionally to cover for holidays/sick leave
· Ability to work with various personalities, experience working with volunteers a plus
